Limited Edition - 7.62x39mm AK-47 Moment of Ignition Barrel Display – Anatomy Training Art

This 7.62x39 ignition display combines a window cut rifle barrel with a complete cartridge anatomy model to create a bold, dimensional showcase of the firing sequence. Hand assembled from inert components and mounted on a solid Mahogany base, this one of one piece is built to command attention.

The monster nightmare piece is done and ready to be rehomed.

This one took way longer than expected to build. The barrel was made from two “buy back” destroyed barrel segments. The ends were cleaned and welded back together to fit the base, then Cerakoted in matte black. The fired projectile was sourced from a Firearms Examiner, who had to down-load the cartridges so they would remain intact during water tank capture. And so on. Every step needed modifications from the original plan. Suffice it to say, it was not an simple build. 

But in the end, a glorious piece emerged. At the center is a sectioned 7.62x39 barrel cut with viewing windows through the chamber and bore, revealing a round captured at the exact moment the projectile leaves the barrel. The cartridge case and bullet are real fired components, preserving authentic primer strikes and rifling marks from actual use. What you’re looking at is a frozen moment.

Like the 9mm barrel piece, I also included a traditional expanded 7.62x39 cartridge anatomy display to enhance its functionality as a training display. It shows the components that allow the barrel scene to happen.

It’s bold. It’s dimensional. And it looks incredible from every angle. While it the most infuriating build, it's now easily my favorite build to date.

Mounted on a 15 inch solid Mahogany base, this exact piece is finished and ready to ship.
